What Is BTMS-25?

BTMS-25 is a cationic conditioning emulsifier used in hair-care and skin-care formulations. It provides conditioning, slip, and detangling while also helping combine oil-based and water-based ingredients into a stable emulsion.

In hair-care products, BTMS-25 improves wet and dry combing and leaves hair soft, smooth, and manageable. It is suitable for rinse-off conditioners, solid conditioner bars, leave-in products, hair masks, and detangling formulations.

BTMS-25 can also be used in lotions, creams, and emulsified body products, where it produces smooth emulsions with a soft, powdery after-feel.

How to Use BTMS-25

What Is the Difference Between BTMS-25 and BTMS-50?

BTMS-25 generally contains a lower concentration of the active conditioning ingredient and a higher proportion of fatty alcohol than BTMS-50. It provides conditioning, emulsification, and structure, while BTMS-50 generally delivers stronger conditioning at lower usage levels.

BTMS-25 and BTMS-50 should not automatically be substituted one-for-one. Adjustments and formulation testing may be required.
